- To use, simply line up point of gauge to the corner of a square, slide the green moveable part of gauge to the opposite corner of square and lock in place. Next, mark a cutting line through the slots, stitch 0.25 inch on both sides of cutting line, then cut apart. You'll be able to create half-square or quarter-square triangle blocks ranging from 2.5 inches to 6.5 inches
